Why Study Karate from Pioneer Shotokan karate club?
Pioneer Shotokan Karate Club is headed by Sensei Super Perez, MD. He has studied karate for over 40 years and have taught for over a decade. His medical degree and background colors the practice to make it even more safe, custom and advanced than other similar classes.
Pioneer Shotokan Karate Club is a venue for the propagation of karate for the sake of the art. Pioneer karate is a part of the Japan Karate Association and as such, we are held to a higher standard than most. Expect that you will be required to learn certain skills before you move on to the next level.
Our goal is for the students to learn and not to earn from them. The fees are all for the maintenance of the classes and for equipment so that classes can still push through despite lower number of students during some days. Our instructors have their own jobs outside and teach for the love of the art. If getting a "black belt" is all that you require, there are McDojos which can provide these for you. We want you to get stronger, faster, more skilled and generally better than when you came to us. We will not promote a person who is not skilled enough to attain the next level. That being said, it is both the teacher and the student's responsibility to get the student able to learn these skills.
